This may be an obvious choice but this song has always got to me, it’s so beautiful and a well written song. It reminds me of being young and stoned. 😁👍

I appear to be useless at naming the "best" song by any artist, but for different reasons.

With LZ, there are just too many.

With Floyd, they're too much of an album band.Β  Does any one track really stand head & shoulders above the others on an album?Β  You need the whole album to create the feeling ...

@tv101 Yeah I suppose listening to a Pink Floyd album is like reading a novel, all the songs are like the chapters of the book. Do people ask what someone’s favourite chapter of a book is? It’s a good point TV.Β

Naming the best is a very difficult task.

I can’t name a favorite or best Pink Floyd song. Maybe on an album but overall, no way.Β

But let’s not forget the last bit in the thread title: ...in this moment.

So basically we can post whatever and whenever we want, boo-ya!

Hereβ€˜s the best LZ in this moment.

Why? Because that riff is killer and it’s in F#!Β The vocals are amazing and I love that slippery bassline and those big chords in the verse.

@mattbeels Yeah! This is one of my favourites of LZ too and now it’s my favourite in this moment too, for the same reasons. 🤘😁🤘🎸 It’s actually surprisingly difficult to play on guitar.Β

This is my favourite Def Leppard song in this moment. Armageddon it! It reminds me of when I used to record a TV programme back in the 80s in the UK that was on in the early hours, it was called The Power Hour. Every night when I got home from school I would play it back on my dad’s VHS recorder and turning the volume up to 11. This was one of the songs I remember rewinding and playing over and over again. It’s just the perfect rock song, catchy melody, great vocals, great guitars, great rhythm section and bass, it never fails to get my foot tapping and making me feel good. I must have played every air instrument to this track a million times. 🎸🥁🎤🎼🤘😜🤘

Well spotted @mattbeels. 👍

Right then, if them's the rules, I'm going to start with track1, side1 of LZ1 tomorrow, and just post them all as they play through to the end of In Through the Out Door.

Then I'll start on the Live albums.

And then the non-album tracks from the compilations.

^^^ [edit]

I might miss one or three tracks from the playlist / postlist, because I *don't* like them. Β Prizes for spotting those.

@mattbeels Good point, he is known for being sloppy. 🤣 It takes quite a bit of tight skill to miss that A string twice on every bar.Β

*This* is my job @Boo.

😆 😆Β

No "proper" work though. Β I declined the offer of an extension to my last contract last Dec (partly because they kept crashing my Weds lunchtimes when I'd booked them out for workshop Weds livestreams!), and haven't actively looked for anything since then.

TBH, I'm a bit disenchanted with the whole business/work thing.

Β Β

Maybe I won't work-for-money anymore? Β

I think he’s great, no question. He was sloppy here and there but his acoustic playing always sounded very clean. Probably just had to do with his attitude towards the different styles. Or how wasted he was at the time! 😆

@tv101

Haha, that’s the proper way to set boundaries! Then they crash your party and you retaliated with declining their offer?

Here’s my vote for best Pink Floyd ...in this moment.

Roger Waters’ tortured voice and melancholy bass playing always resonated with me. It’s on full display with this track. My favorite of theirs is probably The Wall and if so then Animals is my second.
