Excellent stuff Deej!

No music from me - still struggling to learn to hold a guitar the right way round let alone play it...

I am having lessons and really enjoy playing - need to find people to play with - perhaps when the virus is a bit more controlled I will actively do something about making music!

Measure once........
Measure again.........
Sod it - make tea!

This isn't often seen in public ... but as I feel this is a safe space, I'll share it here.

If it looks like it was recorded on an iPad propped in the corner of someone's living room, that's because it is exactly that.  Ex-neighbour (drummer) had a summer garden BBQ / party a few years ago, and we were the "entertainment".

Points will be given for anyone recognising the guitar ...

No video on this one - I'm doing rhythm/vocal on this one (so the lead playing is definitely NOT me!!) - it's actually from a turn up and play jam session where none of us had ever played this, or anything else, together before.

One take ...

That guitar is my Bailey custom build.  There's a story behind it, going back to my first Bailey BYOG course.  The guitar is still my #1.

Pickups are PRS' HFS & VB combination.  They work for that sort of sound.  Amp was my old Tech21 Trademark 60.  Brilliant thing.

Best part of that "event" was the look on my wife's face - she was in the garden with everyone else.  We opened the "set" with that track, pulled back the curtains onto the open patio doors as we started playing, she turned round to look, and then realised that I was singing.

😀

Seventeen years ago I formed a band I'm still playing with. Over the years there have been a number of changes in the band. Guitarists came and guitarists went. Keyboard players came and keyboard players went. Singers came and singers went.

The only original members are one of the singers, the drummer and myself.

Here's a clip of a gig we did 8 years ago. The lead singer, both guitarists and the keyboard player left the band many moons ago.

A more recent clip is this one from a year ago. Only one singer left and two other guitarists.

Last year we did a gig in january at at football club's New Year party. In our second set we were joined by the singer of one of our guitarists other band. I'd never seen her before, no rehearsal but a spontaneous move.

We asked her to join our band but she said a friendly no thanks for personal reasons.  But we kept trying. It took us more than a year but now she's in our band! Did one gig with her the end of february and then some virus spoiled the fun for 5 months. We're back rehearsing now but probably no gigs in the near future.
