I then treated myself to this Fender Eighty Five. I bought it from Denmark Street ( Soon to be No More 😕) in London in 1989.Ā

This is the Amp I have used most recently..........when I say most recently......I haven't played my guitar in way over a year. When I say played........ I consider myself more of a noise maker than a guitarist.......A One Trick Pony Bedroom Blues Man. This Little Amp belongs to my Son. We bought it for him maybe around 10years ago. It's the Fender G-dec mini version. It has a drum and bass accompaniment built in for different styles.Ā

I can relate to your post Russ - I make noise.....
I do usually play every day, I have to practice what I have been set as homework by my teacher - I also enjoy making my noises....
What I really need is other people to play with......
Measure once........ Measure again......... Sod it - make tea!

When I bought my Tele some 16 or more years ago I got a Line 6 Spider Jam to go with it. Not sure how a purist would rate it next to a vintage valve amp but it has loads of great presets, customisable sounds, the ability to record backing tracks to jam or practice over and itās plenty loud! I got a Line 6 pedal board to go with it which integrated with the amp and this was my main setup when we had out village band. In the house I have a Roland Street Cube (Cube Street, take your pick) which is an awesome little amp given that is can run off 6xAA batteries and has a proper mic input.
To be fair, I also have a Hughes & Kettner Tube 50 which is wonderful for distortion but not so good for clean. And it needs servicing (again).
And a very modded Epiphone Valve Junior.
Did anyone say self-build amp kit? Iāve got one of those as well, which was going quite well until I was told I needed to plug a pair of headphones into the output transformer, power up and move it around to find the optimum quiet spot before drilling and mounting it on the chassis.
(And yes, Iām skiving off my 3D CAD training).
Jack of all trades and master of my own destiny. Itās only a small destiny.
And a very modded Epiphone Valve Junior.
I had an unmodded one of those a few years back @jamesbisset.Ā Really shouldn't have sold that - and I'll probably end up building something similar if I ever get round to building an amp for myself.

When you get to the end of the checkout process there is (or was) a section to use the Hero points..not sure if itās still there..
@deej I looked for it in the checkout last time, a few weeks ago, and couldnāt see it. They have disappeared, canāt find them anywhere. They will receive mythical status soon!Ā

Yep just tested it with something in my basket and thereās no option to select hero points....
@deej Yeah I thought so. Not just me then! They used to be displayed all the time and now they are gone. I canāt even see my balance to see what I have.Ā

@johnnierox-boo I canāt find mine but if you put something in your basket and go to checkout your balance will be shown. Delete the item out of your basket (unless you want to buy it that is...)

To find them (and this took me a while!!)
1.Ā Click on the bell icon, top of the page, that normally shows the number of replies/mentions you have.
2.Ā On the next screen, click "my history".
3.Ā That defaults to showing the entries you have for rep points.
4.Ā Click the down arrow in the rep points box to select hero points.
5.Ā Count your hero points.

(Yes, they used to be displayed as a number, but I couldn't find that screen anymore, and I spent a while looking!).

What are you using to make a noise?
I've used several amps and cabs over the years. But the last two years my noise comes through an Eich T-900 amp.
It's a very small amp (0.7" x 1.6" x 8.3", weights 3.75 lbs), but as the name suggests the output is 900 Watt.
As a cab I use an Acoustic Allignment B112.Ā
It's a lightweight (33 lbs) and compact (11,8" x 15,75" x 15,75") cab. As the name does not suggest it has a 10"speaker. When I put it on the stage at gigs bass players (and guitarists) look at me with pity shaking their heads. But when I plug in my bass and play it their pity turns into disbelief when they hear the power and the sound it produces.
