The neck jig will be good for when you make a right handed Uke

My next build will probably be an electric guitar with set neck and Floyd Rose trem. It will be used then 🙂

you’ll never guess what I am making right this very minute!! Yup, ukulele scale templates! It’s taken me a while to get around to it and you do get a new pin with it to fit in the 3mm holes but apart from that it works in exactly the same way as the others with the the main fret slotting jig. More details in the next few days

@darrenking Yes! Nice! I’ll be having a go at that too. Ukes all round. Uke competition. Ukelear war 🤯

I am getting close to completing on my house sale and the purchase of my new home in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Just waiting for the legals to do their job. Then comes the task of actually moving in. It’s all a pain but I’ll have such a big workshop, I’m happy with what we have bought.

Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸

@boo So it's going to be mainly left handed guitars now is it just to make sure you benefit from the local market? I wish you the best of luck with your move and I hope you have got some good midge spray handy. Can't wait for the house warming party!

Cheers

Darren

I've not logged in for a wee while, have you told us where you're moving to yet, or have I missed that.

@robin I haven’t said Robin, I’m not going to reveal that on here but I think I’ve still got your email somewhere. I’ll send you an email soon. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So I finished my electric ukelele.
Freehand fret slot cutting. That was the first time for me, I always have used a jig , but now I could not rely on a jig, because I lend mine out to a friend and I did not have a 15" scale template anyway 🙂

I am getting pretty good at applying a shellac finish. This looks pretty good to me.

I still need to pay more attention to details, especially during sanding in the corners and bends.
That, I feel is still a weak spot for me.

I've also been busy setting up my workshop.

And a work/soldering bench, including stereo PA system underneath 😀

@koendb That looks fantastic. I couple years ago I moved my woodshop inside (mostly because of the cold in the winter) however I've recently been thinking about setting my barn back up to be a woodshop. It will take a little bit of work to make it usable but it is already insulated. It will need a heat source though. That may be next on my list after my acoustic build is done. 🙂

@koendb Yeah that is some nice work man, both the Uke and the workshop, I’m envious right now. I’m getting frustrated with not being able to build right now but I’m getting closer, I move into my new house on 12th August 2022. 🎉🎊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And the Lefty Electric Ukulele has found a new home. My first self-built sale !
Weird to let go to be honest.

Anyway, I am currently building a new one, this time a right handed 🙂

@koendb

Elvis has left the building

Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.
