As long as the 'Zero Fret' is not lower than the first fret it will be OK.

Hey Herb - Standard practice if going for a refret would be to also replace the zero fret with a slightly higher fret. You could use the same fret wire but just level from the first fret onwards.

actually running a straight edge along the frets I find the zero fret is no higher than the others - how did that ever work - it did though...

Hi Mark! Sorry you took offense to my router table... I do agree with you. They are dangerous. But so is a plunge router. I have an enormous respect for routers and they are not to be taken lightly...
