RE: Handmade jigs and tools

I like you're style @bpower , part of the fun of guitar building for me is finding a way to do it. You're next challenge is to add dust extraction to your thicknesser.

Handmade jigs and tools

There are a lot of tools you can buy for guitar building that would break the bank if you tried to get them all. What I can not afford I try and build until I can afford to get the nice stuff. For in...

RE: In the beginning we mark the nut...

I hadn't masked off the bridge post holes when I lacquer my current build @robin ok, so I don’t do that either but I like the solution. What I’m thinking now is to do that to get the built up finish ...

@tej Only concern now is that the bridge is a very tight fit in the mount holes, I hadn't masked off the bridge post holes when I lacquer my current build, so the holes have shrunk with all the lacq...

Currently waiting for my neck blank to be delivered but it should be here in a couple days. I ordered one that's 30X4X4. I'm gonna have to rip it down to two separate 2X4 pieces and then smooth out th...

t was a little scary. @boo I’m not putting a reamer anywhere near this build, bad experiences with them, if it comes to it I’ll make some tedious sanding tool and do it very carefully. I’ve some scra...

making a neck still looks intimidating @stephen Firstly, welcome 🙂 Secondly, please don’t let wood intimidate you! I’d previously put together a kit guitar, finished it nicely and learn how t...

My version is a piece of MDF with a couple of cheap toggle clamps from Amazon screwed into it 😬 Cheers @tej. 🎶🙂🎸🙏

Here’s a pic of one that does the same, I’ll post a pic of my more rough and ready version later. It’s basically a straight plank with a couple of clamps on, I might have over sold it 🙂 So you...
