I finally dismantled one of these barrels today. Hammer and bar did the trick, it was quite easy. I just knocked off the metal bands/hoops (don’t know the technical term) and the thing just fell apart...

@robin Yeah, the intonation always needs adjusting if you change string gauge. Maybe not a lot but it will need some. I don’t think that will give you enough adjustment in terms of scale length though...
