@warmvalves. I would imagine that the 16″ caul would be the one you want. My head says 0.25″ over that distance would not be able to be seen and the 16″ being a little shallower would push the middle down….   Read more»

Looks good @wayne_f. On the next fillet just get it close but not fitting in the slot. Then sand it to the final thickness with a sanding block to get the snug fit you want. 

I know that I have had an absolute blast making the two acoustic guitars I have completed. I’m on the other fence saying maybe someday I’ll make an electric guitar…. maybe. I can see me making a bass guitar first…   Read more»
