@cheesewhisk
How far should we twist his ear @mattbeels and I have to say I didn’t feel like fresh air this morning after last nights session on Guinness and Morgan’s Spice rum.

@cheesewhisk
Looks like you’ve nailed it -

It was you @cheesewhisk that said you sucked at routing, I would never say such an awful thing about a fellow forum member…

@cheesewhisk
Looks like we are all in the remedial class for routing, extra practice needed. -

@cheesewhisk
I think you said a while ago you suck at routing. You’re not the only one. Look at my patch work of repairs to cover up sloppy router work.Fretboard will hide all thank goodness.

@cheesewhisk cracking job, let me know how you get on with the rogue superglue. That’s the exact reason I was querying the use of superglue for frets in the first place so very interested you know how removing it goes.

I’d probably try the @mattbeels approach. Should be cleaner than dissolving it and risking it spreading out over a wider area. Congrats @cheesewhisk, that looks like a nice neat build. 👍 Why is it every time Mark says ‘it’s… Read more»

Great job @cheesewhisk! You can use a razor blade or small (sharp!) chisel to remove the dried glue, easy but a bit annoying. Just take it slow and don’t dig in.

@cheesewhisk so from one of your images I can see you’ve used pins to locate the board as Mark suggests, what I don’t get is how that’s meant you didn’t get it located where you wanted it. Consensus seems to… Read more»

@hursty Welcome, good to hear someone else challenging themselves to a build 🙂 I’m currently using an Aldi bandsaw like @cheesewhisk, it’s a compact if you’re short on space and unless you want a particularly wide headstock it’s big enough… Read more»

@cheesewhisk One tip I learned for handling small parts like dots, when doing jewellery making classes, is to use blue tack or similar for holding. My method now is small stick or dowel, blue tack, dot, then push into the… Read more»

Sounds sane to me, I know not all wood is equal but would practising on say the off cuts of the mahogany neck be worth using? I don’t have any spare rosewood lying around. @cheesewhisk Yeah, I would practice on… Read more»

Totally didn’t glue my finger to my thumb either, well maybe for a split second.
@cheesewhisk Have you bought any debonder yet for superglue? I have had a few close calls. 🤣

Having second thoughts about the 12 fret wings now but fortune favours the bold or something right?
@cheesewhisk Do you have a routing template or small carving chisels for those wings?

just how?
@cheesewhisk 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Maybe an air bubble lifted it or something. Never mind, sand it flat, drill it out carefully and glue another one in, Done. 👍
