Hi Can be done with a deep reach coping saw with a skip tooth blade. 3-4 tpi. I have done it before on 2 inch thick mahogany tops when my bandsaw broke.

As thin as 5mm. From fretboards to acoustic tops. Attachment : FullSizeRender.mov

Quite useful if you do not have the proper bandsaw. Takes a long time but works great Attachment : IMG_4085.MOV
