Nearly finished….. I am waiting for some screws to fix pickup surrounds, truss rod cover and rear cover plates.  Also need to look at pickup height and tweak intonation.

My truss rod cover is a piece of 2.5mm black plastic with a water slide decal.   The silver lettering of the decal doesn’t ‘shine’ but the letters are the ‘Gibson’ font and just about the right size…..

Only one Luthier – but it will take at least two days by the time he has built the jigs and made the patterns to do the job……

I have used some shielding paint from Mahogany Green Luthier Supplies who are based in Ireland – about £4.50 for a small 30ml bottle.Applied some to a scrap of wood to test – one layer – quite thick but goes…   Read more»
