@Robin. Good old hand saw and make a router sled to plane and flatten. I do at all the time.

I've just been and picked up some mahogany this evening, 150mm square x 960mm long. I think I'll try to make a thru neck from one of these, once I've figured out how I'm going to cut it. Attachment...
