@nsj yeah, good suggestion! I’ve not done it on this neck, but I have another 1″ blank and a small selection of veneers. Could look pretty cool. Apologies in advance for the incoming interrogation! With the Osmo oil, does it… Read more»

@brie thank you. Nice Bo Diddley vibes on your build, looks great!
I’ve got some of crimson’s stains, but not their oils. I used liberon finishing oil on my last build, is crimson’s much different to that?
Cheers

Hey @swepri, I’ve not made any bit on necks yet, but I’ve set up quite a few guitars with bolt on necks. The vintage approach is to have the adjustment in the heel. Fender later changed it to the headstock…. Read more»

@clinton thanks again. I made the box section longer at 10″ (as my blank is thicker) and that’s really worked.
A table saw is on my list, but it will take a while to get to.

@brie that sounds like a plan! When I did my bad thing, I didn’t want to change the shape of the body, but reshaping is always an option. @nsj is correct and has much more experience than me, I just… Read more»

@brie, I feel you you, man! I had a router booboo at a similar point. Although your area is larger, I’m not certain if the tear out is any deeper than mine?
I filled the hole with mahogany wood… Read more»

Hi @clinton, thanks for the reply. Have you made this jig too? I did think the thickness of the piece would have an effect, but didn’t think it would be that much – shows what an idiot I am! I’ve… Read more»
