I’ve ruined a couple of bodies, a couple of necks and an almost finished build! But, I’ve learnt to get over stuff pretty quick these days and just get on with it lol.

@steveh Trussrod fully tight and still bowing forward? You could try adding a bit of physical pressure to pull the neck back and see if the trussrod will turn more. Or, you could somehow pull down at both… Read more»

@liebe depends on whether it’s glued or bolted, I like bolted pretty snug if possible but glue in needs room for the glue and to tight can cause real issues. Don’t want a lot of side to side slop but… Read more»

@liebe Radian tools sell a planer bit to use with a router sled, it’s excellent. Just take small bites. A thickness planer or planer table is a lot more likely to take chips out of figured wood. As for… Read more»

For gluing it’s better rough so 80 is good. I think the join disappears more and also glue gets a better hold, gets right into the fibres instead of floating on the surface.
