Well that’s probably because @robin is superior at problem solving. And decorating sheds. 

Try taking a shaving off a bit of your body offcuts with a plane, adjust the depth of cut to get the thickness you want.

I’ve made so that the table is the same height as the workbench so that I can move it into the corner and have an extended table for cutting things

*that* is forward planning!  Nice thinking @robin.

Thanks @robin. I looked into it and I have to dig a 2′ trench or run it along a solid wall with an armoured sheath covering the armoured cable. 
Scary stuff with the gas pipe. 😱
