RE: Bench build

@boo A piece of art! Will last a generation or two. But isn't it slippery with that glossy finish?

RE: Bench build

I’ve got all the butterflies in, sanded everything and applied some Danish Oil, 3 coats so far. Not a bad finish that, for a work bench. I might give it one more coat for good measure. Attachment ...

RE: Shielding Paint

@rathius It’s got loads of graphite in it, very thick stuff and messy to work with. Make sure the body around the cavity you’re painting is well masked, it’s a real pain to clean any splashes or erran...

RE: 🎶🎸 Your Favourite Song In This Moment 🎸🎶

My favourite song today by the Dutch band Fruitcake. When I first saw this clip I was a bit shocked to see the singer/guitarist Rob Taekema (who I've known for many years now) because of his short hai...

RE: A future build

@robin he got the idea from Charvel. Doing the angled area was fine, making the plate fit was fine, making actual socket fit with a lead plugged in was less fine! Lol

RE: A future build

@nsj I like the jack socket set into the angled face like that. I was going to do it on my first build, I drew it out, but then chickened out.

RE: A future build

Litle update, got the pickup cavities done and the control panel. Recessed for the nobs because it'll have a couple of push push pots and they need room to go down to pop up, this means I can have the...

My favourite song today from the Dutch band Shocking Blue. They had a world wide hit with the song 'Venus", but had many more hits over here. This is one of those hits.

RE: Router suggestions

Wealden Tool Co. cutters are significantly cheaper than Trend and, IMHO, are of a higher quality. I use them with manual routing and their solid TC spirals are the standard on my CNC router.

RE: Robin's build #004

Routed the groove for the rossette, lovely clean crisp edges and 2mm deep. Dry fitted the mahogany and maple inlays, all fitted nicely. Then the messy business of gluing it in, making sure all the fac...
