RE: Finishing an Ebony neck

@tv101 You dont have to add color, you use the shellac more as a grain filler and protect the wood against moist, dirt, etc.You dont need to make it a french polish finish either :-). It s an alternat...

@malte-krausgmx-de Welcome to this awesome community !I would use titebond original. Hide glue is really good glue, and , probably that premade hide glue from titebond also has its uses, but hide glue...

RE: What Glue should I use for a Bridge?

Hi @malte-krausgmx-de As luck would have it I've just been doing a stress test for various glues. Both titebond and hide glue came out with virtually the same results. Titebond is an easier glue to us...

RE: What Glue should I use for a Bridge?

@malte-krausgmx-de. On all of my acoustic builds I've used white pva glue for the neck and bridge. It cleans up easily and if it ever needs to be removed it is decently worry free to do (ps.... I've h...

RE: Finishing an Ebony neck

@tv101 you could try shellac. It s easy to apply, its easy to fix afterwards and it does not feel sticky. moreover, it works together well with almost any other finishing and or coloring method.

@steveadams. Well done steve. Great to see you back at it. An inlay to fix the gap on the heel will be neat to see. I've had that on all of my builds so far. I, like you, forgot about it while undercu...
