Hi Guys

I've replied to a post from TV101 but also thought I would do a new post too.

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope last year was good for you all but being so busy with work last year was a downfall for my guitar progress.

But I have a new video hot out of the edit suite. TV101 posted to see where I had gone and to be honest made me feel a bit guilty....in a good way...

I've posted on youtube as a private video, so all you need to do is paste this link into youtube. I have a new phone so it's all in sparking HD. 4k is possible but I really dint think you need to see my mistakes in such detail!!!

Let me know your thoughts and as ever any tips or advice gladly taken.

Β

cheers

Β

Steve

Damn that pesky @tv101 - he just can't leave well alone.

Β

Good to see you back Steve, and to see you getting back in the workshop.

Time to cut off the heel overhang:Β  Β 20 seconds

Time to set up the different camera angles:Β  10 minutes

Total time:Β  10 minutes and 20 seconds 😆Β

Β

It's good to see the process though, and all the thinking about it before & after!Β  You don't get any of that with simple static photos, and the videos show it so much better.Β Β

Thanks for taking the time to share.

Good to see you back Steve anb another great video, I'm looking forward to seeing progress.

You've prompted me to look at my current build and I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't made any sawdust since last March, I really need to get on with that again.

@steveadams. Well done steve. Great to see you back at it. An inlay to fix the gap on the heel will be neat to see. I've had that on all of my builds so far. I, like you, forgot about it while undercutting on the first guitar. On the other two, while I was fitting the sides of the neck joint with the pulling sandpaper technique, sanded grooves in it. I decided heel caps look great on a guitar and it covers the imperfections. I also made mine finish at halfway up the binding instead of leaving it flush with the back.Β

Looking forward to the next video. πŸ™‚
