I had to have a go at a scarf neck so I built the jig and I’ve done a test piece of 2x1.

14 degrees

Clean up.

Looks like a TOP Job there - I can tell from the pics that you remembered to scrape the gluing surfaces to remove the sanding scratches...

Unclamped this test piece today and it’s very strong with no signs of moving or breaking. I even did a stress test on it and there is no way it is coming apart. I cleaned it all up a bit, made sure everything was straight and level. It’s now time to try it with the real thing.

OK, here is my 14 degree angle cut on a 105mm wide neck blank. I cut half way through and then started the cut from the other side to meet up in the middle. It turned out quite good, now onto the routing jig. 

It was difficult to get started but once I did, it was just a case of keeping the saw straight. 

Keep it straight.

I love these Japanese saws.
