Hey all, I realized after some trial and error that the compressor I have is not big enough for a pneumatic sander, so I’m wondering about electrics. This would be for body sanding and like knocking down pore fill layers… any thoughts?

You definitely want one with proper dustextraction. Mirka is a reputable brand in this segment of power tools.

@somethingnicer

Like @koendb says, if you've got the money, Mirka Deros 5650 is the bee's knees. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper then Rutland's do a reasonable alternative.

I might be a bit late here.

I have a Mirka DEOS - the smaller one. It is beautiful to use. It costs though!

I wanted a bigger sander as the Mirka is really a finishing sander, but couldn't justify the cost of a Deros so went with the Rutland 125/150 sander. So far I am impressed with it. It does the job. It's not as nice to use as the Mirka, but it is a lot cheaper.

Paul.
