I have spent the last few weeks turning a small old box room in my house into a functioning guitar tinkering area. What do you think?

The guitar rack was inspired by and with the help of @eddie6string
Thanks Eddie 👍 I ended up building it a little differently but I’m happy with it for now.

It's a bit chilly out in my lockup.
Work faster and harder @robin ... soon build up a bit of a sweat.
I now feel like a real wuss. I’ve got an oil filled rad in my workshop, just set on frost protection level, but I still have multiple layers and a warm beanie on whenever I’m out there in the winter!

I'm envious. Hoping to get started building a small workshop in my garden soon.
Tip @peter-Johnson.
1. Build it at least 3x bigger than you think you’ll ever need.
2. If poss, get some polystyrene sheets to line it, and then cover it all (walls & floor) with some cheap ply/OSB.
3. Then put something on the ceiling to keep heat in.
I used dunsterhouse to source my workshop. It’s survived almost 4 years so far ...

Thank you everyone, I knew I was going to be freezing in my unheated outdoor workshop so I decided this year I would be able to do a lot of the work indoors. I can do all the really messy jobs outside and bring things indoors to do the less messy work. I’m thinking of putting a vice on my indoor bench.
Music system: Just for you @tv101 I use my Yamaha THR30II Wireless amp as a speaker from my iPad. Rock n Roll eh? 🤘😁🤘

Dr who has got the perfect guitar makers workshop!
Is it full of sonic screwdrivers @darrenking? Imagine what you could do with one of those in the workshop ...

I'm so envious of you Boo, an indoor workspace, what a luxury. It's a bit chilly out in my lockup.
@robin I bet it is cold up there in Scotland, some kind of heating would definitely not go a miss for you. I’m really glad I did this now, maybe you could use some marital politics to negotiate a spare bedroom conversion!
If our “Prime Minister” can negotiate Bre**t, then surely........ No, never mind, bad example!

Unfortunately she had persuaded me to convert our spare room into a guest bedroom before I started making guitars. But she did suggest that I hang all my guitars on the wall. I don't think she has any concept of how many "all" could be, there will be a row of brackets on the wall before she can change her mind.

@tv101 I wish. I rent, so I'm lucky to be allowed to build one at all. Best I'll be able to do is around 7'*18'. Long and narrow. Has to be because of where I'm putting it. Only other place would be on my veg patch, and I'm not giving that up (something else I'm lucky to be able to do). I'll have to get creative with space saving. Electronics work will have to be done indoors.
I'll be lining it with Celotex and I'll get a wood burner.
I have no idea when I'll be able to get it done. I have a lot of the materials to get started, but health problems force me to rely on a young neighbour to help with the heavy lifting (don't get old. It sucks).

That's not too bad at all @peter-johnson - you'll be able to have plenty of guitar building fun in a space that size.
👍
(don't get old. It sucks).
If only someone had warned me about that when I was younger ...

You're going to need to start building a bigger wall @robin.
There's a guy in the US talks a good wall-build - and he's looking for a new job.
