Though not a stranger to the world of building custom musical instruments "from scratch," I am relatively new to the custom guitar building realm. I grew up building high-end hammered dulcimer (of all things!) in my father's shop, and am now looking to fill the void of that creative outlet with Hudson Custom Guitars. Over the last year or so, I've completed some kits and a few PartsCasters to get my bearings, but WOW, this geometry is VASTLY different!!! I'm here with the hopes of gleaning & imparting wisdom through the mutual sharing of Univ. Of Hard Knocks lessons. Many thanks to all, in advance!
- Thanks for asking, Tej. I've successfully built my prototype, and have since finalized a multitude of mods, from body shape, pups selection, harness, to final headstock design and neck/board construction. Now, I just need to oil up my calipers, wear out my calculator, and determine where and what my exact geometry lands with the designed components...assembly and execution of design are always the crux

Welcome to the forum. If you can build a complex instrument like a hammered dulcimer you shouldn’t have too much trouble with guitars. There are lots of utube videos from Mark Bailey on electric and acoustic building.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

I appreciate your vote of confidence, sir. Thank you for the link, as well.
