This is my favourite song in this moment, after reminiscing about my first music concert. At this Iron Maiden concert, the opening song was Moonchild. The stadium went dark, the Em drone from the synthesisers got louder, then the guitars came in for the opening power chords. The rumble of the bass and drums built the tension and then...... BOOM! The stage lit up with pyrotechnics, lights and a wall of sound nearly knocked me over. Iโm sure my heart stopped, I was in shock (in the best way possible). For a 15 year old in 1988, it truly changed my life.ย

@Boo I was on the ferry from Hook of Holland to Harwich and was biding my time at the bar when I noticed a group of excited girls standing around a little long haired man in shorts. I asked the barkeeper what the excitement was about.ย

Bruce was raised by his grandparents in my home town of Evesham.ย
He was very generous and several times bought me some beers in the Royal Oak, whilst we chatted about our mutual love of Deep Purple.ย
He'd just left Samson (and his stage name of 'Bruce Bruce') and auditioned fir Iron Maiden last time we met.
I was friends with his Wife Jane, back in the LSD years when she was a journalist .

It is with sadness that Europe says goodbye to the UK.
@marcel Thanks Marcel, it is indeed a sad day for half of the UK. I think it may also see the breakup of the UK as well, which I think is a good thing. The union nations clearly want to go in different direction, have done for a long time. The union is no longer fit for purpose so there is no point in continuing with it. Hopefully Scotland will join the EU, that means I will be there with it. 🏴🇪🇺 Some of us will be back, see you again soon.ย
