I did and I didn't. Never heard of this band nor this song.
Probably a bit of a UK thing @Marcel - and a pretty small UK thing too.Β Not sure they ever had any significant chart-type popularity.
They appeared with the mid-70s punk bands, but were always a bit more pop than punk.Β Probably the first "power-pop" band, before that really became a recognised genre a few years later.
Still going today, 45+ years later.

In Belgium there used to be a radio program called 'vragen staat vrij' where the host asked the listeners to request songs for their loved ones, this was way back in 70s or 80s i think. They used to make a compilation of all the most requested songs and put it on a lp. My grandparents (they are in their late 70s) bought this Lp and used to listen to it a lot. When i got into 'old' music they gave me the Lp 'vragen staat vrij' and their record player because they didn't use it and saw how enthousiastic i was about music. The song 'rock around the clock' was featured on the lp. I then later discovered my dads record collection where i got introduced to queen (the miracle lp),The Hollies and EurodanceΒ 😆 🤣 .
My point is, it's a great song 😀Β
Louis
@russ It is interesting to look back to an earlier part of the evolution of rock music. Itβs a good song
Cheers @boo. I've been listening to some Buddy Holly too. It must have been great to be around when all this was kicking off.

Like the way you talk about 70s/80s as being the old days. To people my age itβs not that long ago.
@rocknroller912 Itβs all relative isnβt it? 😄Β
For me, the 80s and 90s donβt seem like that long ago.Β

I know right? I was born in 2003 and never experienced the 70s and 80s (which i would have loved to).
It is so great that a lot of talented artist from back in the day all made music in the same era. I would have loved to experience the 70s and 80s. My grandparents always told me that those times were a lot simpler that these days where every fellow student of me is watching their phone 24/7...
