Hi James, you're music reminds me of the early 80's alternative Scottish music scene.....Orange Juice, Josef K, Aztec Camera and the like.
Yes! It definitely had that vibe from the 80's!
What is a constant in both sessions I've seen from James is that he really lays down some funky groovesΒ

I really like James' recordings - and I'm envious of the skills he's got in overdubbing (etc) to create all the drums, bass, etc tracks!
Can't help feeling that he lost something though, when he dumped the original curtains.

I enjoyed the session last night, especially the blues man from France (I think) with that βRusty Manβ song. 😎 Β Very entertaining. 🎸🎼🎵🎶
@tv101 did a good job too and the young couple who are getting married soon. I liked it all, the lady with the harp and the crazy Scottish couple (Is it, Big Dave?). 😆 Love it. Β 🌍✌️Β
I havenβt got the skills or the bottle to do any of that so respect to all of you. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🏴

I really enjoy the Bliss sessions - there's been a huge amount of music played at those sessions through the years.Β Β
I'm also grateful to Carol for continuing to broadcast through lockdown this year.Β The broadcasts were a "connection" point for me back to the outside world when otherwise I'd see very few people!
Also grateful because submitting something for broadcast means that I've had to (a) learn some songs properly, and (b) get to grips with some recording software and (c) do it all every week!

Well, everything and everyone on last night's show were completely overshadowed by the return of the @jamesbisset curtains.
We thought they'd been lost.Β
Or - more likely - stolen by unscrupulous curtain collectors.
Either way, we'd mourned their disappearance for weeks - each week hoping to see them appear once more, only for our hopes to be dashed when James appeared, with those plain old, pale imitation substitutes behind him.
Β
But, last night, a night that will be longer remembered and written in Bliss folklore, the curtains came back.Β We don't know whether a ransom was paid, whether the CRC (Curtain Retrieval Collective - like the SAS, but deal exclusively with curtains) were involved, and we're asking no questions.Β It doesn't matter.
The curtains are back.Β Long hang the curtains.

This is such an audacious piece of sleight of hand. @tv101 is trying to distract you from the fact that heβs been building - or growing - clones. How it was done doesnβt bear thinking about.

Jack of all trades and master of my own destiny. Itβs only a small destiny.

Thank you @russ, a man of exquisite taste and musical appreciation.

And all wearing the same uniform.
😛@jamesbisset. Β Iβm going to find my old denim jacket for the next one.

Seriously though, Iβd been promising myself for *years* that Iβd do something like this. Β Write a track (thanks @sally for the lyrics), play all the instruments, and record it.
The wonderful Acoustic Bliss gave me the opportunity and impetus to stop thinking about it, and JFDI. Β Thanks Carol & Mark.
