A little musical* interlude in a weekly on-line comedy show ...
* obviously, that's up for debate!
Nice one @tv101
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
Cheers @deej - as Carol says in the intro, that was me breaking my duck (or losing my virginity) in many respects.
A solo performance. Recorded. To a real audience. (OK, a virtual real audience).
I'd probably do it differently a second time

Rather you than me @tv101. I’ve always had the luxury of sitting in the mix with a band...hides a multitude of sins (bum notes). I can’t sing for toffee neither.
Hope you make some of the Bliss sessions @Deej. They've been huge fun over the past few weeks, and a real link-to-the-world for isolated me! It's another incredible community that M&C have created.
Oh, and you'll see various of this community performing there too!

I look forward every week to seeing what you and Mabbot are up to.
You might just change your opinion @jamesbisset if Carol plays this week's contributions ...
(mine, not Mabbbotttt's!).

Anyone watching Bliss last night will have seen this - well, seen most of this before the subtle editing towards the end from our host. For anyone not watching Bliss last night, here's something you won't have seen ...
(my wife decided to put it on her YT channel so she could share it with my sisters!).

A little musical
@tv101 good work sir, absolutely loved the chap who did sweet home Alabama, talk about givin it your all!
I miss living near pubs that have live music.
@markbailey I think you mentioned Elvis Juice in the video, dangerous dangerous drink, but damn tasty 😋
…on an elaborate journey to turn trees into music.
Cheers @Tej - it's been a bit of a journey for me over the past few months. Not having done anything like this previously, the first few efforts were "treated kindly" by the audience!!
Bliss last night, it was better than Radio Scotland.
@rocknroller912 - can you imagine Carol DJ'ing on Radio Scotland? Do you think we could get a petition going to make that happen??
😉

I think Carol would make a very good DJ, she would have to leave the Guinness out maybe. Some of the late night radio presenters are different to the conventional BBC image. I always work late and on Fridays listen to Ashley Storrie & Silent Paul who are very funny. Audience participation and live chat is a big thing these days and Carol is good at that too, maybe editing skills need a bit of polish, have to get them on Darren’s buffing wheel.
I was a disco DJ in my younger days by the way. Thought I would drop that nugget in for no particular reason.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.
A couple of weeks ago for the first time in 18 months I played for an audience. With my musical pals John and Rob (no official band name, so we were just "John Spijker & Friends") we opened a small local festival. John is a singer-songwriter and Rob is a professional drum teacher. The clip is from a local tv station. The clip ends just when the bass solo has started. Can't blame them haha! 😉

As Monty Python would say:"And now for something completely different". At the annual local festival from the previous post for years the music was for the adults. This year a couple of my musical friends decided it was time to play some music for the kids. So for the occasion we formed the band "Flapuit" (Blabbermouth) to play some tunes for them. The songs in this clip are "Auto blues" (Car blues), "Zes kleine visjes" (Six little fish) and "Zonnebril" (Sunglasses).

One of the songs we do with "Akoestische Heeren" (Acoustic Gentlemen) is Green River. Last week when we were jamming at the attic of guitar player Stijn we came up with this version. And decided to record it. In one take.

@marcel I like that a lot. I like the bass line mimicking the bull frogs when they are mentioned in the lyrics. The song has a great rhythm and I like the 7th chords that come in on the guitars about 2 thirds the way through the song. Well played by all and to do it in one take is commendable.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸
May I share

Brilliant @marcel!
Really enjoyed listening to that - thanks for posting it here. Really tight playing and a great mix too.
I’m envious of you having band mates to play with!
