I was looking through the benefits of the various levels of membership.

I noticed that one of the benefits of the standard level is to "make friends".

Now, I've got quite a few guitars already, probably enough, and quite possibly more than enough. Β I'll carry on making more of course, but not because I want more!

However, the opportunity to make some friends sounds great to me. Β I've got far fewer of them than I have guitars.

I've had a quick look around, but couldn't find the plans or templates for making the friends anywhere.

Anyone know where they are?

This forum is the template and like a real one, it has edges, boundaries, constraints and you have to carve out your own way to great projects and make friends along the way. How well you do it depends on how sharp, neat and deep you cut!Β

Happy templating Bailey friends! ?✌️

@johnnierox-boo Surely Mark is the template, making a whole clan of guitar makers in his image (or at least using most of his techniques and know-how). Anybody want to volunteer to be the bearing guided cutter?

One day there will be a guitarmaking.co.uk convention, I can feel it in my bones!!

@darrenking I would say @markbailey is the designer and creator of the guitar making template but that is just the start. All of us here can go on to morph the template into something beyond the sum of its parts. And yes, although we are some of those parts, we are also the lifeblood of this living, firebreathing, creative, shape shifting template that is Guitarmaking.co.uk ?????? We are Frankenstein’s Monster, or rather Bailey’s ragtag, eclectic mix of guitar making worshipers that is taking on a life of its own.Β

I'm not sure whether it's a good thing that we'd be able to fill the NEC

Or a bad thing because it means that the restrictions will have to be in force for many many years ...

πŸ˜‰

Β

I think I'd settle for just being able to fill Mark's workshop with another set of course attendees!

@tv1010101

Ive just been looking at the photos of your instruments which are all wonderful. Don't think you will have any problem making friends with this quality of work, especially if you have more guitars than you need. Everybody will want to be your new best friend.

Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

Hey Mark

Is it possible for the site to incorporate a World map with pins showing where all the forum members are? It would be great to watch your membership spread over the surface of the Earth like some kind of virus type thing (if anyone can imagine what that might be like!)

Don't like to be a wet blanket but it would have to be careful how closely people's locations were identified. The web is full of scammers trying to find out who you are and where you live. Only two pieces of information are needed to start an identity fraud.

Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.
