Or, maybe it’s 3 strikes and you have to eat one of Mark’s socks!

You'd have to catch them first...

Measure twice, cut once...

I think I’d rather eat Mark’s socks than some lentils. As long as there’s some brown sauce on the side....

Hmmmmmm ... there's a challenge for one evening on the 335 course @deej.

Possibly after a beer or two.

What bait would you leave out in order to catch one of my loose socks? Some Persil?

Surely Persil works as a repellent rather than bait???

😆

After surface routing the front face of the headstock, it was time to get the neck blank back onto the bandsaw for rough cutting.

Done some more on the Bandsman today.

Just a little bit more then @Boo!  That's some rapid progress ...

I'm still wondering what wood to use for my neck blank.

Though I did cut a few slots into a couple of fretboards earlier today, and one of those is very likely to make its way onto my Bandsman build.

@boo

That's something I'd not seen before!

And the purists worry about what sort of glue is used to join the neck and body on some guitars ...

@tv101 I’m using Cherry for the neck and a nice piece of Ebony for the fretboard. I think I’m progressing fairly quick because I’m using all of my jigs and templates (patterns) from my first Bandsman build.

Yeah that copper guitar is certainly different and I would love to know how he made it. I’m all for trying out new materials so I certainly don’t hate it.

I think I will go with the Ebony but there is no harm in looking at other options. This cherry neck blank is from the same batch I bought that I made this one from and I can see the figuring in it already. The fretboard on this one is also ebony, rather nice wood isn’t it?

That is definitely a *very* nice piece of ebony @boo.

I've got something like that on a fretboard on one of my guitars.

Macassar ebony?

@tv101 I’m not sure actually, I bought it off Mark a while ago, I’ll have to ask him. @markbailey Mark, what kind of Ebony is this, can you remember?
