Sanding finished…. Spent a whole shaping then sanding – did 80, 120, 150, 240 and 320 grit using my lovely Mirka Deros random sander and by hand – took a while but nice and smooth…..

They may well be aluminium (or an alloy containing aluminium) the gold on my first Bailey workshop build has worn off a bit but it was all I played for two years…..They do them in black……..

I’ve got Wilkinson wrapovers on two of my guitars and they work really well – intonation is very good.

Went back to the Electric Course – 1.5mm on treble and 4.5m on bass side – holes now drilled and holes for tailpiece. I invested in Famag brad point drill bits after the cheapy i bought ripped a bit out…   Read more»

I need to drill to position the tune-a-magic bridge and tail piece. From the design course – mark scale line then go 3mm further on treble side and 9mm on bass side – join those and mark for holes? How…   Read more»

I think the Exotica is a stunning guitar – on my list but with Super-Strat pickup config – possibly with a Floyd Rose – it was going to be my next workshop build with Mark until the 335 rumours………

The chamfers have been cut, managed to get a sharp(ish) line where the chamfer starts, need to spend another couple of sessions getting it all even. I need to mark up, check, check, check and drill holes for bridge and…   Read more»

I got the motor running at a steady speed and tried without success to wind a coil because the wire kept breaking – having watched some more stuff on YouTube the secret seemed to be to put the spool…   Read more»
