RE: What would you like to see next?

Well, selfishly I'm considering the following... a thru-neck "Strat" a carved top thin-line ES33x type a 000 acoustic (24.75 scale, 12th fret join) guidance would always be appreciated.

RE: What would you like to see next?

Are you planning an un-saddle pickup fitting video for an acoustic guitar Mark? That would be nice... Herb

Masking tape magic

Here's a great tip from my friend Andy Lines ( I've used this several times now and it saves so much frustration. Does your (maybe cheap or old) masking tape refuse to come off the roll without tearin...

RE: Fret markers after the event

I'm taking your advice Mark and trying the easier solution and replacing the abalone dots. I think it's the answer. It also leaves the fingerboard clean and minimal but should fix the low-light playab...

In order to neatly remove the current 3mm abalone side dots should I attempt to accurately mark the centre with a "pokey thing" and hand drill the full 3mm or use a smaller drill bit and hack the rest...

Attachment : unnamed.jpg Good input - I'll start with replacing them with white plastic. If it works I'll have no excuse for my strangely avant-garde licks.

Fret markers after the event

RE: Refretting an acoustic

Frets went in a treat. Levelling and profiling as we speak (taking a break and having a cuppa) Attachment : HP_181205_IMG_7176.jpg Those above the 14th were easier than I thought!

Refretting an acoustic

Looking for tips on installing frets above the 14th over an acoustic body once the neck is glued on. Seems like hammering is out of the question. Squeeze with a clamp maybe?
