Looks to me like you need more solid support underneath the neck to stop it bouncing or bending when you hit it. 🤔

If I understand this correctly you have a 15.75″ fretboard and want to press the frets in. A 16″ caul will be slightly flatter and press more in the centre leaving the ends slightly high. This could be bad. It…   Read more»

1st pic – Back of neck join: Use a fine line black pen to cover the white bits…spray over.
2nd pic – Top of body: Ignore it. Will be hidden by scratchplate (I hope!)

Yes – All good… the braces are Spruce….those those thin pieces are Sitka Spruce – as you correctly identified, one is for the UTGRFT, the other is to make ‘Center Seam Reinforcement Diamonds’.
