@mattbeels
Someone must be playing them, they keep making them.
I imagine their biggest seller is probably the T5 though, which is more of a hybrid, and has a rather natty looking narrow pickup, -

You would do that with your nut files. @mattbeels given the tiny difference we’re talking certainly nothing to lose by trying it. I don’t have any nut files, they seem to cost a lot, is there a budget option here… Read more»

@mattbeels, I recall an article on Taylor electrics, and then man from Taylor was talking about what they considered to be the best setup, which was what they did at the factory. Part of it as I recall was that… Read more»

@mattbeels @tv101 So having mooched around further I’m looking at these instead, any gotchas I’ve overlooked. Still 52mm E to E so my neck taper will be fine and a 12” radius over the saddles: https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/hardware-parts-c1/bridges-tailpieces-c2/tune-o-matic-bridges-c36/gotoh-nashville-tune-o-matic-bridge-large-posts-p661 https…[Read more]

I just noticed that bridge has a 14” radius, are you aware of that? I don’t know which radius you’re planning on your board but if it’s a 12 then a 14 will be a tad flat. Seriously @mattbeels (seriously,… Read more»

@mattbeels irritatingly i didn’t consider the radius of the bridge despite ensuring the fretboard radius was what I wanted. I’d presumed that the saddle height on all bridges was adjustable. I’ll have to have a closer look at it tomorrow… Read more»

Professional builders aren’t offended by customers having specific requirements like no black plastic. @rocknroller912 (& @mattbeels). There’s a story to this guitar. When I did my first BYOG workshop course (2007), we all stayed on-site, and sat around in the… Read more»

@mattbeels Thanks for your vote of confidence, I’ve spent some time this evening marking out the route for the truss rod channel and making sure the headstock still fits the blank. Not many mm to spare. I used to do… Read more»

Seriously though, why didn’t you specify no BLACK PLASTIC?
@mattbeels – when I eat at Michelin restaurants, I don’t (often) tell the chef what salt to use.

I completely agree but… ? Ahhhhhhh @mattbeels, but I didn’t make that one. It was created for me, by a guitar making genius, using special magic, known only to a master of the guitar building art. I could not… Read more»

gotta get to 20k somehow, right? I did have a cunning plan @mattbeels, to keep Boo at 19,900 (19,999 would have been too close), whilst everyone else slowly caught him up. But I decided that it would have been a… Read more»
