@rocknroller912, those are centre drills, their job is really to create a countersunk hole for a lathe centre. What you’re describing (functionally speaking) is a spot drill, they’re what you’re supposed to use start an accurate hole in machining.

Looks like a decent repair, more difficult than making new stuff every job is different.

Why cheapskate when we all want quality.

@rocknroller912 Yeah that’s my philosophy on everything really. Buying anything cheap is usually bad quality and ends up being a false economy.
