I think the risk with a loose truss rod is the “truss rod rattle” effect.

I’ve used stain and oi

Which stains / oils?  I’ve been using Crimson’s stains exclusively for a few years now, and not had that issue.
Though I have learned *not* to wet oil a stained body.

Heavy *and* bright. Also expensive if you want a full quilted/flamed body. Better – IMHO – to use a lighter and less expensive wood for the body, and choose a very nice quilted/flamed cap for the WOW factor!  You could…   Read more»
