@markbailey Lockdown Lucy looks stunning Mark, well done to Lewis.

Can’t wait to get stuck into this finishing course, it will see me through some dark times ahead.

The finish on Penny looks great.

I thought the raw body was a bit plain, but with the colour and shine, it looks like a completely different piece of wood!  Are you sure you didn’t swap it when the cameras weren’t on?

I think you can be forgiven most things if the finishing course gets released!

i know we (I) have bee teasing you for a while re getting the finishing course finished, but I do realise that it’s another massive investment by the whole team up there.

It’ll be my trigger for going premium ...

Sorry to shock you @boo - at your age, that's a dangerous thing to do

😆

Yup @mattbeels - seriously.  I still have access to the original course from when Mark used Udemy, and haven't had the time this year to get stuck in to any of the other (premium member access only) courses.

I was considering doing the acoustic course, but reckon that, by the time I've bought another set of tools, I'll be better off (not just financially!) taking a couple more trips to Baileyland to do some in-workshop acoustic building.

The finishing course will probably be my reason for joining though.  Possibly on 25th December ...

😉

You’re right @tv101 I do have to be careful. I’m really excited about the finishing course so get your wallet out and get that premium membership bought. There is going to be a flurry of paint offs happening, I predict. 🤘

With your experience and expertise, I think we should operate some form of handicap system.

You can do your spraying blindfolded ... that'll help even things up.

@tv101 Well, I’m sure the course will be covering finishing products that I haven’t used before, different types of paint, so maybe with one eye covered and one hand behind my back. How about that for a compromise? 🤣

Joking aside, I have never actually used Nitro for a full on finish before, all my experience is with automotive 1k and 2k products and that is not necessarily the best choice for guitar finishing. I’m sure a lot of the principles in preparation and polishing are the same and I will be familiar with them but I bet I will still learn a lot in the context of application in guitar building/finishing.
