Last weekend I finished my first scarf joint. I am very pleased with the results. This weekend the truss rod will be installed (dual action) but I am I bit uncertain where to place the truss rod exactly on a tilted headstock guitar.

I have seen people use the back of the nut as a starting point but I have also seen others move it more forward. Making the adjustment nut almost flush with the face of the headstock.

Is there any golden rule to follow? or what's your opinion guys?

My pref is like the attached as it’s easier . The exposed slot can be covered by ...a truss rod cover..😃

I asked about this on one of the livestreams as I wanted to install mine without any TR nut showing and Mark answered that the start of the rod ie the part right past the TR nut should be between the string nut and the first fret. Cheers!
