I’ve been trying out painting some pickup covers with flakes and candies.
Here are some single coil Strat covers.

@rocknroller I have no idea to be honest, I’ll go grab a magnet and see what happens. My expectation is that nothing will happen, it will be fine. The actual result could be different and will follow……….

@rocknroller912 Actual result is……… Nothing happens, there is no attraction between metal flake and a magnet, none what so ever.
Here is a little video of how sparkly they are though. 🤣✨✨✨✨
I kept the sides in silver base coat and just the tops in flake, all with varying amounts of blue candy and a bit of trickery thrown in too. I need to clean these up now and get all the grubby fingerprints off them.

Thanks for checking, but it could still shield if it’s aluminium or copper flake which isn’t magnetic. It was an idea I had to create balanced line humbuckers by wiring both pick up leads as hot and connecting the cover to ground. Then use a stereo jack plug and socket. Should improve the signal/noise ratio.
The paint job is outstanding by the way.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

@rocknroller912 Oh I see, it sounds plausible and I hope you can get it to work one day.
I’m glad you like the paint, my job is to make things look good, I need to work on making things sound good though (especially with my guitar playing). 🤣👍
