Hi guys,

Not often you get something really useful/durable at supermarket (Lidl),  but this little flexible clamp-on vice was about £9 - £12 can't remember exactly???

I'm using it here for Neck carving/Shinto rasping.

Also for anyone in the UK - I have Triton sander TSPS450 surplus to requirements - hardly used.

Stay safe

Years ago, I bought a super cheap drill press from Aldi / Lidl (I don't remember) for something like £5.

It'd probably work fine for use as a drill press, with a light/small drill (or something like a dremel), but I re-purposed mine for use as a fret press.  Works perfectly as that.

StewMac would probably charge £75 for something equivalent ...

I also got a load of hand clamps from Makro (IIRC) when they were £5 for 4.  Again, ridiculously cheap, and they're still going strong today.  I've broken far more expensive ones, but those old cheapies just keep on going.

Though, those were both from the long-ago days when I used to go *to* supermarkets!!

I wonder if it's because we give 'Pro-tools' more Wellie?

Maybe I should rename this thread

'Affordable/bargain bench tools' ?

I want to re-purpose the bottom half of Bandsaw to make a 2" drum sander for headstock scoop.
