@russ It was just like my first car (mine was white) - I started to learn to drive in it ..until I kangarood the exhaust off.Β  It was another 8 years before I tried again . I do love a camper tho 🙂

@cazdaz.

My first wee car was a Mkii Ford Escort Carol. Loved it. Should have kept hold of it as they're now selling for about Β£20,000. 😳🚗Β

🎶🎸🙏🙂

@cazdaz Hi Carol, I need a yellow knob (insert your own joke) for this guitar I’ve built and a yellow kill switch. Do you have any idea where I could get them? I’ve looked all over the place but can only find those cheap looking plastic ones. I want metal or something more substantial, plastic hardware is just rubbish. I melted this plastic killswitch with my soldering iron and had to replace it with a black metal one instead. My customer wanted the guitar to be all matt black but have yellow highlights, such as the pickup, the covers, volume knob and killswitch, it’s all part of the design. The more of it I replace with non yellow parts, the less it’s like the end product he wanted.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I did buy these yellow string to put on it and I’ll do that today when I get time.Β

Thanks in advance.Β

@cazdaz By the way, I’m getting much closer to moving to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. We are in the process of emptying our house and moving temporarily to my mother’s nice big farm house. This means we will have released our money from our house and will be cash buyers for our new home in Scotland, we just have to find it (that will be our full time job). So many trips to Scotland will be happening very soon. The sale of our house will be going ahead in April (not sure of an exact date yet), we are selling it to our niece.Β

So my mum’s place has a nice big double garage that I will be using for guitar building until we move to Scotland. Not bad eh? 😁 It needs a clear out and a big tidy up but will do me. I used to spray cars in there a long time ago, there is still car body filler and paint on the walls to prove it. 😂Β

Exciting times. I just hope WW3 doesn’t kick off to ruin everyone’s plans. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌍✌️

Hope you are all safe and well. Hope to see you soon.Β

@boo WOW - love the look of this.Β  Heres a link to yellow parts I know of instantlyΒ  - this company are in germany so this adds a brexit dimension and VAt & customs charge - but this is exactly what I had in mind - if anyone else sees anything here that they need -Β  we can do an order for everyone . But of course you can just order yourself . I def not asking people to start buying stuff for other people . But we can do that if it helps.Β  πŸ™‚

https://www.banzaimusic.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1&keep_https=yes

I have ordered from here in the past - not alot as we use diffferent brandsΒ  and because in EU it took a while to come ...but that is probablyΒ  less of a problem now

As always dont forget to check any sizingΒ  - switch tips for eg, have driven me nuts as we have so many and not all fit all types of switch.

Is it a bit sad that I remembered where I had seen yellow bits ? haha

@cazdazΒ

Thanks for posting this link, I think it has the tube valves I’m looking for to complete my stalled valve amp build.

Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

@cazdazΒ

Yes I’ve heard of him, the course was mentioned in some posts a while ago and I think a few people were interested.Β

@Rocknroller912 From what I've heard recently Tubes are going to be difficult to source in the near future due to export restrictions imposed by Russia (where most tubes are made) so it might be worth getting some sooner rather than later unless the prices have been jacked up to account for this, if that's the case just ride it out and wait πŸ™‚

Yup If you find stock on tubes, you better hurry, they are almost out of every type of tube.
Price will go up a lot too I am afraid.

EDIT: JJ is the only significant manufacturer outside of Russia and China. I believe from Serbia. So you probably will still find stock, but still hard to find I guess.

EDIT 2: Not Serbia but Slovakia.

You can always buy direct from JJ https://www.jjtubes.eu/
