Hi
I’m Richard from Cardiff and I built my first guitar with Mark on the course last June and had a brilliant time! Just finished making my first home build (Telecaster), mainly in the back lane with an old Black & Decker workmate, but with lots of help online from Mark and following the videos to remind how to do it - it was almost as enjoyable second time around, but could have done with the good soup and company I had in Scotland. Telecaster turned out OK and plays pretty well but I’ve noticed that the guitar sometimes has a vibrating or ‘warbling’ sound (without the guitar being amplified) especially if I strum hard on the strings and I’m wondering if the truss rod is a bit loose. If I tap the back of the neck at the headstock end it sounds like it may be knocking/rattling. Doesn’t happen all the time and doesn’t seem to affect the sound when plugged into the amp but any help/thoughts would be most appreciated
Cheers
Rich
@markbailey thanks, i'll try that
i'll also message soon about ordering more wood for a 2nd home build - it's a bit addictive !
@frocesterbill how are you? i see you've been busy since last summer in Scotland!
@richyc - I'm pretty good - the bug really took a hold after being in the workshop in June last year - two builds completed at home and a Bailey acoustic kit in the garage waiting for some time....
How about you?
Measure once........ Measure again......... Sod it - make tea!
@frocesterbill yeah i'm ok thanks - working from home since Covid hit has allowed me a bit more time to make a guitar at home - need to build another soon and i think i need to move house to get a better workshop than the back lane ! I may have finally worked out what i want to do when i grow up!
You have to blame the dealers......tempting you in with the free video stuff and then when you are hooked............
That's a very good point @frocesterbill
IIRC, when I attended my first Bailey course, I had ~5 guitars.
Now, I have "a few" more, many of which I've built myself. It's addictive ... but in a good way, as I learn something new on each one.

Tell me about it @TV1010101 and these are the ones my wife knows about...I have a few dotted around at friends...it’s a risk as you might not get em back but at least I’m still alive, if the wife found out I’d be screwed....
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!

That gives me an idea ...
You build some, send them to me. "They're not mine, they're Deej's".

Marcel builds some sends them to us. "These ones are Marcel's - look at the name".
We build some more, and pretend they're Marcel's. (HE doesn't need any more).
Perfect @Deej!!

I built 5 in 5 months after seeing Bailey’s live streams. About to start my 6th, my first Bandsman! At the rate I’m going that is 12 a year. The main reason is, I got quite a lot of guitar wall hangers and really cannot put those to waste. Haha.
