I did apologise on the covering note to Carol @Russ!
Carol emailed around lunchtime, asking for any content for the show. I didn't have time to record anything new, so it was definitely a case of "here's one I made earlier".
Quite a few years earlier actually!
I was playing a Bailey guitar though ....

Who is Sally?
I knew Sally - only briefly - about 40 years ago.
Back in the days before internets and mobiled phones it was a bit more difficult to stay in touch with people. We both lived in the same (small) town in Cheshire, but were at different Universities, and hence it was but a fleeting friendship.
But, turns out that (amazingly!) I'd kept some of the words that she'd written for me for the last 40 years. Time to put some of them to music!
I'm not a FaceBooker, but I did do a quick Google on her "original" name, but nothing showed up.

How come this is the first mention I have ever seen of 'Acoustic Bliss' in the forum?
Avoiding any cross contamination @darrenking.
We don't talk about guitar making on the Acoustic Bliss forum either.
There have been some classic sessions - the music played, the chat alongside, and the hosts!
Definitely the hosts.

Had not heard of Acoustic Bliss before and have added it to my watch list. The Twa Dugs didn’t exist when I lived in Ayr so I checked Mr Google. Looks like it’s Burns Statue Square near the A&G. On my visit list the next time I’m visiting family in Prestwick.

Well thank you @russ for breaking ranks and letting the cat out, so to speak!
Cheers Darren. I like watching but don't think I'll ever be performing. I admire @tv101 & @jamesbisset for having the nerve to do it along with all the others.......... I also love Carol and Mark's banter.

@Russ - it's scarier doing it in a pub full of people (remember those days?).
Doing the home recordings has been great for me. It's given me a kick up the proverbial to actually learn some songs properly (rather than just bits of riffs), to try to do some singing, and to get my head around some of the DAW functionality (thanks @Deej) to create some recordings.
All things that I'd been meaning to do, "one day", for many years.
Being able to do all of that, in the isolation of my home, and then have them played to a very safely distanced audience (who are all completely supportive and encouraging), has been a great opportunity.
Are you not even a little bit tempted? Some people do instrumental tracks ...

When live music starts again there is a pub session in the Coach & Horses Dumfries on the last Thursday of every month if anyone is passing through the area. It’s all acoustic no mics and everyone joins in together, which is great for players who are nervous doing solo spots.

It’s always a Thursday, isn’t it! Acoustic Bliss is a Thursday, village pub quiz is a Thursday and now this?
I think we need more Thursdays.
Jack of all trades and master of my own destiny. It’s only a small destiny.
I think we need more Thursdays.
I think you are right @jamesbisset and enjoyed your contributions over the last few months. Been watching acoustic bliss since I went up to the workshop and managed to catch a live in the pub bliss. Just as enjoyable watching remotely. Some talented people out there.
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
Yes it’s always Thursdays decided by the pub I think. They have other live stuff Fri, Sat, Sun evenings and afternoons and don’t open Mon.
