@steveadams Yeah, that’s the kind of thing I want to build. I want lots of vices though as well.

Yeah, that’s the kind of thing I want to build. I want lots of vices though as well

That looks like a hefty piece of furniture @steveadams.

I like the neat touches too - covering the screw holes on a workbench is attention to detail!

The top looks almost too nice to work on though.  Imagine drilling through a workpiece and into the top too ... Arrfghhhh!

Hey tv1

I looked at loads of plans and fancied trying to do something that will last...The top is screwed on from underneath and so can come off...

I think it's a bit like guitars, that once you have at least one ding or scratch you're not so precious, and all i have to do is plane it down again to get a smooth top...

Will definitely outlive most of us....

I do like and use Mark's idea of a replaceable MDF top - I have just flipped mine over to use the second side.

Measure once........
Measure again.........
