Hello everyone, Now that I have got my picture posting powers back here are some images of my recent development of the Maccaferri external mould design. I had never like having protruding blocks at the extremities of the mould to allow for through bolts or long screws to hold the two halves together. Thinking about other methods of drawing two halve together I hit upon the idea of using the hidden fixings commonly used for joining section of kitchen worktop together. They have the advantage of being able to be entirely hidden within the structure of the mould, other than a 5 or 6mm hole to access the hex socket used to tighten the joint. The internal expansion blocks use stainless turn buckles held in place with 12mm birch dowels so that they are completely captive once the sections are glued together. So much neater than the previous design.

Thanks guys,
When my new website goes live (4 weeks?) there will be a section devoted to instrument making and offering services for custom making internal/external moulds and templates etc to customers own designs will all be a big part of it. All I will need is a pdf outline of the guitar, for example, and I can then machine whatever bits people want.
Very clever and very impressive work @darrenking , well done sir!
I look forward to your website, keep us informed.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸

Hey @darrenking - please remember to let us know when the website goes live! That's assuming that you'll be selling direct-to-the-public (just seen your vacuum kits on Axminster).
