Hi
Can be done with a deep reach coping saw with a skip tooth blade. 3-4 tpi. I have done it before on 2 inch thick mahogany tops when my bandsaw broke. -

Quite useful if you do not have the proper bandsaw. Takes a long time but works great

My scarf joints are 12 degrees. I like it, for it makes bending strings a breeze.
