You could plug the hole and drill again where you wnt it. If you don’t move it too far, the washer will cover the repair   @Robin Yes indeed. I ‘ll decide that just before final sanding and finishing

I’m also finding out that international A4, is slightly different than USA Letter size
we are 8.5″ x 11″ 
 
where international is 8.25″  11.75″
 
so it’s looking like a scaling issue more and more; i’m just worried about the Neck Slot
dimensions

@Robin. Good old hand saw and make a router sled to plane and flatten. I do at all the time.

Good finish, Danish Oil is my favourite and good point about the cloths. I know a violin maker who burned his workshop down by throwing wet cloths in a bin full of wood shavings

@robin come to think of it there was a small pot of “something” provided when I bought stain and finish for a kit build guitar, wonder if that’s what it was! 

@robin Is it transparent then, would you use it before or after staining? Sounds like another technique I need to test anyway!
