RE: Hello ya'll; In for the long haul

Wish I had picked up on this earlier. It can be very confusing as some UK institutions like banks still use the old letter size for printing which was pre decimalisation in 1970. It’s not much differe...

@russ Lucky you I’ve never seen him or the ISB live. Think he lives in the Borders somewhere near Selkirk.

RE: 🎶🎸 Your Favourite Song In This Moment 🎸🎶

This one came into my head tonight when I was discussing the demise of live music in the pub due to Covid and wondering if it’s ever going to return. For anyone that is too young it sings about what l...

RE: What is an oily rag and where can you get one?

@jamesbisset You’ve certainly stirred the pot with this topic, all you have to do now is compose a rag time tune and call it the Oily Rag.

RE: Inlays/marquetry

I did try sanding sealer before cutting and it helped. This is a really cheap piece of wood soft and powdery. I’m sure it will be much better on a quality piece.

RE: Inlays/marquetry

@tej I didn’t explain myself very well again. I meant to raise my work bench up by a lot maybe a foot or more as I’m 6 ft 1 inch tall and working on a folding bench kills my back.

RE: Inlays/marquetry

@tej Thanks I’m glad I tried this as a practice first before using the expensive wood. I’ve never used a Dremel before and I’m thinking of ideas to raise the work height.
