Stunning paint job it’s as good as anything I’ve seen from a factory. You commented that you’re not fitting the scratch plate, so just a thought would a faux painted scratch plate in a contrasting colour look good.

@rocknroller912 Thank you. I could paint the existing plate that I took off, I don’t know, it might look good but I’ve filled the screw holes in now though.
Or, do you mean mask off the shape of a scratch plate on the new paint job and then paint with a contrasting colour? Interesting but would that be matt or shiny? 😆

What do you lot think?
I think I need to change my last name to black! 🤪
I like the idea of a textured contrast, sounds interesting. Actually all the options you listed sound cool, hmm...

I think that’s what he meant.
Practice on scrap...
I was thinking to mask off the scratch plate shape and spray to make it look as if there is one. Maybe the Saltire as you’re moving to chilli jocko land (Jimmy Greaves favourite saying). Plain blue and white would be a good contrast to the changing background.

@rocknroller912 So, a faux Saltire scratch plate that isn’t a scratch plate but a scratch plate made entirely out of paint?

Did you manage to get a replacement pot for the broken one yet. Sorry I haven’t been able to check my spares, they are in the loft and I’ve bee struck down with sore knee again.

@rocknroller912 No, I haven’t even thought about it yet to be honest. There is no rush for this project, I’ve got quite a bit of work on the paint to do yet. I forgot to have a proper look at what value the pots are, I’ll let you know. Anyway, don’t go climbing into your attic until your knee is better, hope it improves soon. 👍

@rocknroller912 Hey, I had a look at the pot for this bass, they are B250k

Finally had some time to progress with the paint job on this bass, white racing stripes over the chameleon paint. This is plain white basecoat, I’ll put some pearl over it before unmasking it for clearcoat.

I forgot to say that I did look for a pot in my spores box but don’t have one sorry
@rocknroller912 Oh don’t worry about it, I’ll pick one up sometime. Thanks. 👍
