I seem to remember reading or hearing somewhere that Jimi’s RH Strat was simply turned upside down and strung for the LH Jimi with no changes to the pick ups or electrics. Does anybody know if this is true or is it just a guitar makers’ urban myth?
I'm sure I've seen film of him playing a RH guitar without changing the strings at all i.e. upside down. I know this sounds stupid but it was a common thing with US players in the 60s & 70s, it was how they got their distinctive sound. Search for Elizabeth Cotton who was a folk singer famous for the song Freight Train & Bill Staines who still tours around and is famous for a song Fiddle and the Banjo.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

@darrenking I’m not sure but it was all rather splendid. His music and guitar playing were absolutely incredible and I love it all but it was (especially live) “well controlled chaos”. Food for the soul.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸
