@boo does the piece of metal work better than a blade for scraping the surface after?

I know you’re going to paint it @boo but I was thinking that the mismatch of the grain on the headstock would seep through... but I guess that you know what you’re doing, right? 🤷🏼‍♂️

When I saw the "extension" piece of the headstock, I thought that'd need some veneering.

But, of course, it's Boo.

@tej Yeah, it’s a cabinet scraper. A blade is just like a mini version, an alternative. You can get cabinet scrapers in many shapes and sizes. I think Mark did a YouTube video on them last year.

@tv101 I think I would have a go at veneering it if it wasn’t being painted. It’s something I haven’t done yet and I really do need to give it a go at some point.  But until then, I’ll keep slapping the paint on. 🤣

That fretboard is a nice piece of wood.

I leave that unpainted.

@tv101 Yeah, it’s a very nice piece of Ebony from Mark, I love the grain. Yep, it’s the only bit of the guitar that won’t have paint on it.

@russ Yep, I can’t fault them, I use them for everything now. Most of my old plastic clamps have broken, Aldi and Lidl. Cheap crappy clamps are definitely not a good investment, false economy. These half price ones from Axminster though will last me a lifetime.

I've noticed that Axminster quite often have a deal on clamps @boo. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some more.

@russ I wish I’d bought more now but now I know these are good, I’ll get more next time they have a deal on. I do want some of those cam clamps next.

I think I'll just keep buying any clamps that are on a deal @boo. You can't have too many as they say. 🤣😂

Time for some bodywork. I used this jig to take a measurement from the neck, I can now transfer it to the body.
