I showed the pictures to my wife. She likes the black hardware... but says it reminds her of Gem and the Holograms. 🙂
I also like the black hardware.
@bpower Thanks to you and your wife for the feedback.ย
I have to admit, I had to look that up on the web, Gem and the Holograms. I donโt think we got that tv programme here in the UK. 👍

This guitar is a project Iโm doing with two other friends and guitar builders and we already have a colour combination for the guitar but I just wanted to try out a couple of different ones and get some opinions. Itโs all subjective of course but keep them coming. At the end of it all, itโs about what is appropriate for the new owner. Thanks. 👍ย

I prefer the black too.
I do understand @jonhodgson though, but I then would rather keep the black scratch plate with white pickups and accents or perhaps cream ones, as white might be too much of a contrast (for me anyway).
Because of the pickup configuration, I would, without a doubt, use the black pickguard with those single-coil format humbucker pickups, unless you dont already have traditional strats with SSS configuration in your collection.
@boo I prefer the all black hardware for this, it looks more intentional and the contrast with the bright pink works well to my eye. I canโt really explain why but the white looks like youโd have bought the guitar and then changed the hardware from what it should be. All subjective though I guess! Great work regardless 🙂

The choice between black and white is a hard one. Usually I donโt like anything white ย but the scratch plate and chrome looks good. I also like the black and thatโs the one I would choose.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

I can see that working too. I just find that the black knobs and pickups on the black scratchplate lose all definition, which might be cool if you were doing a "stealth" all black look, but not really in keeping with the pink sparkle.
Or maybe black hardware and something more interesting for the scratchplate (swirls, colour shifting, tinted mirror, etc), if you're going glam then maybe it's best to go all out!
Flattened the clearcoat on this pink thing yesterday, did a little bit of a graphic with my airbrush and re-clearcoated. Iโll leave it for a few days and then flatten ย it again and put a few more coats of clear on, leave it for a week or so and then flatten and polish it to a glass finish.ย

Oh I forgot to include the airbrush pic.ย
